							| Hi dear friends   I need your help, please. What would you call to the person who sells the tickets, at the ticket booth, in an open air funfair?    Thanks in advance.   Linda   | 20 Apr 2016

							| Ticket seller sounds OK to me, but I think I would all him/her a cashier.
about.com says a ticket vendor, but if i needed change at the fair to buy a hotdog, I would say, "I need to go to the cashier for change.",  | 20 Apr 2016

							| I think that "cashier" is more common in American English. To my British ears, "cashier" suggests a bank teller or possibly someone behind the till in a shop. For the person at a funfair, I would most naturally use "ticket seller" or even avoid reference to the person by saying something like, "I need to get tickets" or "I m going to the ticket booth." | 20 Apr 2016
