							| The difference is very small. In general, the present participle (especially when used in the continuous tenses) emphasizes a process over time. So here, "I like cooking" gives a picture of me enjoying the activity, and spending time doing it. "I like to cook" is a more factual statement, without giving much of a picture.   I hope this clears it up some. Bruce
