							| Pie. /pai/ ... There s a scene in the film where he draws the Pi (π)sign on the board so that others pronounce the name correctly. | 6 Apr 2017

							| SORRY Gi2gi, it s  /pea/ as a reference to picine ( swimming pool in French ) , watch the film again, there s a background history behind the nickname. And the sign on the board is not (n) it s the Maths symbol of 3.14
  pronounced as /pea/

							| marinal, the Pi sign -π- (3.14) is pronounced as Pie /pai/ not Pea /pi:/ and if you look closely in my reply I have written exactly the same symbol, π- not n, as you suggest... (Take a closer look) ... Please, make sure you check the pronunciation of the Pi (3.14) symbol. You can do it on wikipedia, for example.
 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pi
Or you can just watch the the movie again to make yourself sure.
Heres a video based on the movie scene.

By the way, you have also misspelled the name of the character - its
        Piscine not Picine

							| marinal, Even though the letter is Greek (and they pronounce it like "pea"), in English we pronounce it like "pie". I think that is so as not to confuse it with our own letter P (which is pronounced like "pea").   Bruce  | 7 Apr 2017

							| It certainly is pie ; not to be confused with this pie, beloved of Northern lads, with gravy! (And lasses!)   | 7 Apr 2017
