							| Dear colleagues, What other problems
might students have in UNDERSTANDING these expressions: I’ve got a headache I’ve got a sore throat I’ve got a cough My Answer:
1.One very common mistake students make with the phrase sore throat is that they replace sore with words like painful, achy,
hurtful, etc. Similarly, instead of saying a headache, they would say "my head is
painful", "I have a sore head".
 2. Some students might think that “have got” is the
present perfect of get.   Thank you in advance for your help | 14 May 2017

							| Your first answer is about their using the expressions, rather than understanding them. I think your second answer is good.   Bruce  | 14 May 2017

							| Fairly low-level students probably know the word "head", but might not know "ache", "sore", "throat" or "cough".   Bruce  | 15 May 2017
