							| Which preposition is correct
 |
							| Dear colleagues, especially native speakers,   I´ve found these sentences in one of the worksheets here:   They are used to running in marathons. = It is typical FOR them.   I used the worksheet in my lesson and one of my students thinks that there is a mistake in the second sentence - it should be: It is typical OF them.    Is my student right? Or are both prepositions FOR/OF possible in this context?    Thank you for your help :)   Lenka

							| I think either of those is fine, although I prefer typical FOR, as that is normal behaviour FOR them. This link might help. But, oh, I do hate know-it-all students! | 4 Dec 2017

							| As I see it, of is the correct variant here. "If a particular action or feature is typical of someone or something, it shows their usual qualities or characteristics. " (from Collins Cobuilt 5) | 4 Dec 2017
