							| Dear respected English Language teachers,    Can a person use this expression "sits on his/her mobile" to mean that this person spends a long time using the applications and games on his/her smart phone? Is that even proper English?    Please clarify...and thanks for your help.      | 17 Dec 2017

							| That phrase is absolutely fine. It does convey the idea that s/he is on his/her mobile all the time.
Also used and perhaps more frequently - hes always checking his mobile, hes forever at his phone, he never puts his mobile away...
Btw, sit on can also mean (as well as the obvious!), to keep back or withhold a piece of information.  | 18 Dec 2017
