							| Polite?
 |
							| Dear colleagues,   Is it OK to use would in this sentence:   If you go to town tomorrow, WOULD you do some shopping for me?   Is WOULD a polite way of saying it? I would use will.   Thank you for your answers.  | 18 Dec 2017

							| Personally, I would use "could", but I think between your two choices "would" sounds more polite to me than "will". | 18 Dec 2017

							| "Would" sounds fine to me. You could also say "would you please ... " if you want to emphasise the politeness.  "Will" is fine as it s a conditional type 1, but it loses the sense of a polite request to some extent. | 18 Dec 2017

							| Would is good here, also agree with Douglas about could . Would you mind doing some shopping...? even more polite. | 18 Dec 2017
