							| Grammar help - Simple or complex sentence?
 |
							| Hello, I need your opinion  about the following type of situation:  "While he was running, he fell" is a complex sentence but what happens when the relative clause is reduced to "While running, he fell"? Is this a simple sentence now because there is only one subject and one verb?   I would appreciate any comments.  | 26 May 2018

							| It is a complex sentence. The subordinate clause is expressed by a participle clause (while running).
