how can we rewrite the sentences. ( do we have to change the last part?)

1) T 1) The weather is too cold so they can�t go swimming

I wish ....................................................................................

2) She is too old so she can�t apply for the job.

If only ......................................................................................

I wish the weather wasn �t too cold for them to go swimming.

If only she wasn �t too old to apply for the job.

"wasn �t" might not work in strict grammar. "Weren �t" is preferable.
