							|  Hi!   "the prevention of gender violence between partners (partner violence) requires that it be addressed before violence erupts."     Is this sentence correct? Suggestions?     | 22 Jul 2018

							| It is probably ok the way you said it, but my initial reaction was that I would say requires "addressing" it before violence errupts. (using a gerund after the verb "requires")   A search brought up this similar  sentence using "reaching" instead of "reach":
"Preventing intimate partner violence requires reaching a clear understanding of those factors, coordinating resources, and fostering and initiating change in individuals, families, and society."     | 22 Jul 2018

							| I agree with Mary that it is correct as you have it, but her change makes it less wordy, and keeps it all in the active voice.   Bruce  | 22 Jul 2018
