							| I am confused!
 |
							| I have seen these two sentences and I realized one has the infinitive with "to" and the other hasnt. Are both correct? And if so, what is the difference??    Nothing has been done (except/other than) to lay the foundation. It wont do anything (except/other than) eat.   Thanks in advance to whoever can help me! Aisha ;)  | 16 Feb 2019

							| I have no idea why, but for the first one, both sound correct. For the second, "to" sounds odd or just plain wrong. I suspect somebody lost the rulebook for that one. | 16 Feb 2019

							| Thanks so much Dale. I think I know:    Nothing has been done (except/other than) to lay the foundation. It wont do anything (except/other than) eat.   The first one is a fact whilst the second is a thing (action). I broke my brain and actually is the same as in spanish. LOL Thanks again and recover yourself from the flu  Best wishes  Aisha ;)     | 16 Feb 2019
