We use match to talk about things that go together E.g.   Her bag matches her shoes.  They �re both the same shade of brown   We use suit to say if something looks good on you E.g.   Take off that dress!  It doesn �t suit you!  It makes you look frumpy and old   We use fit to talk about size E.g.   These shoes don �t fit me.  They �re too small.   These are the 3 words that Ss usually confuse

It suits you.  LOOKS GOOD ON YOU.   It suits Ann to be a grandmother.  SHE IS GOOD AT IT.   My shoes don �t match bag.  AREN �T EXACTLY THE SAME COLOR - SIZE - texture   I have a suit.  IN CARD GAMES - AS IN A PAIR - OR THINGS THAT GO TOGETHER     It doesn �t fit me. - too big or too small.   It doesn �t suit me.  - the style/shape is wrong for me - the color is bad for me   It doesn �t match my skirt.  -  doesn �t look good with the skirt because of color/ fabric etc.     Don � have a fit is this explanation doesn �t suit your needs.   fit- get excited/angry/upset                                                                                      suit -  doesn �t answer your question.   Barbara
