							| Hello dear colleagues, Im marking some papers and I was wondering:   My favourite thing in my room IS my photos.    What do you think? Is it correct?  And if it isnt, should I say   My favourite things in my room are my photos    or    My favourite thing in my room are my photos?    Thanks for your help, Chiara  | 10 Feb 2020

							| Hi there, I assume its correct to say "my favourite thing is apples / books..." because your subject and the be-verb are in agreement. | 10 Feb 2020

							| We do not say favourites things (may be a typo?). English does not decline adjectives to match noun declentions. In this sentence since thing is the noun, we must say is in order to agree with the singular noun. The speaker was talking about her favorite thing, not her favorite things. | 12 Feb 2020
