Since dollar is a countable noun and dollars is plural: One hundred dollars are given to her every week. |

Hi! The book Understanding English Grammar has an excellent chapter on subject-verb agreement. It says that this instance is an irregularity, and that it takes a singular verb, so the answer should be "$100 is given to her every week." See the chart below.

Both are correct.
1, If we talk about one 100$ note
and
2, If we talk about 100 Dollars as a countable noun. |

How does this sound?
$100 (amount) is given to her every week. One hundred dollars (amount) is given to her every week. One hundred dollars (meaning one hundred one dollar bills/notes) are given to her every week.
