							| Is it the independent task?? I guess free choice response would deal more with general ideas, such as your experience, knowledge, wish, plan, opinion.
 Example:
How do people celebrate their birthday in your country?
What are the characteristics of a good teacher?

Paired choice response basically asks you to take side on a given question and elaborate your argument/opinion.
 Example:
Would you prefer to take tests or write a paper for your final examination?
Which one describes you better: an inspiring leader or a good follower?

Both types of course want you to use reasons and details to support your response.

 Hope this helps.
