I think it can be done in higher classes in a slightly different way,
I do a similar thing with my 7 graders. We have a box which is called "A good word" and everyone has to write good words to any classmate he chooses. Once a week I "deliver" the mail...
They love it and I enjoy the idea of teaching them to compliment and appreciate their friends
