							| Hi Noor, A close friend can be an intimate friend or one of the best friends;but all depend on the context.We use negative questions when we expect negative answers,and short answers to them are often ambiguous. Have a nice weekend   |  17 Apr 2009

							| You can say bosom friends (meaning very close) or kindred spirits (which does not necessarily means they are couple) As regards negative questions I agree with harim. It has to do with the speakers expectations, but obviuosly the answer may differ. Hope it helps! =) |  17 Apr 2009
