							| Jeanne Perrett s course book "Brilliant" (Macmillan)is based on a pirate story.
It has some good songs and stories (like comics).
If you can, try to get the book to get ideas. I can help you with the songs.

							| I don t think my actual lesson would work for you but could share the concept.  I used a "treasure map" that had a list of instructions to start and they had to follow parts of the map instruction to find the next piece of the map in till they find the treasure.  I recommend toward the end of the camp and it be a surprise food item like ice cream or something edible as the treasure for the end party.  You can set it up where it touches several areas like describing, following direction, speech (saying something out loud like an answer to a question or making a comment).  It was part of my how to lesson outline.  We started by having them getting me from behind my desk to the far door in the class and outside the class.  The students had to create the directions, read the directions and I (the teacher followed like a robot, including crashing into desks, walls and the door.) following the directions.  Then the treasure map I mention above ended the class.   Oh yeah I had created several treasure maps pieces and broke the class into teams to see who got there first and followed all the instructions which can be difficult if you are by yourself.  Just a quick thought.   Also saw this and thought it was interesting about the book Pirates Quests
Children Create Water Mural with A Pirate s Quest ... From the moment I mentioned the words "pirate" and "quest," the children were giddy with anticipation ...     This had some pirate history and information   | 26 May 2009
