 |
							| Dear friends, I have a little question- when we start writing a letter we should write like this:

the first line - Dear... ,
the second line - thank you for /or smt like this/

The question is if the first word of the second line should start with a CAPITAL letter?

 Thank you!

							| Yes, indeed it may be, but you may also use block format whereby no indentations are used, neither in the first address nor in the paragraphs.  I suggest you choose one format (it doesn t matter which) and teach that to your students, giving them no options.  It makes life easier! | 31 May 2009

							| Yes Jull   Remember that you should always capitalize the first letter of the first word, whatever the grammatical category of that word and be it in a paragraph or in a single sentence. So since the "T" is the first letter of that paragraph/line, then you need to capitalize it for sure.   In addition to that, it would be better if you respect the left-hand margin when you write a letter. So the first line in each new paragraph should be indented. To examplify:
Dear Ann,         Thank you for .............................................................................................................. ......................................................................................................................................... ............................................................. .           Your plan for ...............................................................................................................
......................................................................................................................................... ............................................................. .           As for the ....................................................................................................................
.......................................................................................................................................... ............................................................. .   ........ etc.   Have a good day   Abdelhadi | 1 Jun 2009
