Hello dear teachers,
Here is a good example of how powerful punctuation is. You can share it with your students and ask them about the big difference in meaning punctuation can give. Once I used it with my 8th graders and it was a lot of fun!!!
Read carefully.
An English professor wrote the words :
"A woman without her man is nothing"
on the chalkboard and asked his students to punctuate it correctly.
All of the males in the class wrote:
"A woman, without her man, is nothing."
All the females in the class wrote:
"A woman: without her, man is nothing."
What do you think???

great recommendation, Nebal...I used that a couple of years ago and it was a smash hit with my teenagers - everybody, try this - Nebal is quite right - it �s great!!!
