My room wordsearch
This worksheet is a simple wordsearch, as simple as can be! I generally hand out this sort of leaflet when the lesson is almost over: 5-10 minutes before the ring of the bell, just to relax and have fun! Sometimes I organize a sort of "speed contest", the child or the team that complete the ws first win a prize (a candy, a sticker, whatever). An an...

Science cover
I am preparing some CLIL science lessons for my second graders and I thought to start with a cover for their exercise books. I went through the rules and I didnt find anything about this kind of contribution. I am ready to delete it if it is not a valid one. Thank you. The pics are from www.midisegni.it P.S. I edited the title, now its only "Sci...

Winter is... a handful of frequency adverbs
After a session of brainstorming about winter, I let the children complete the worksheet and then I compare the answers. Children understand that Winter is seen differently depending on their everyday life and habits. Together we paste each worksheet on a poster and make a chart out of the answers to see how many of them always-seldom-neverdo th...

Its Winter
A cross curricular lesson? Maybe, but very simple! After a science lesson, the teacher of Italian and myself invented a story the children had to repeat. I made the pictionary and we had the children "read" the pictures and tell what they had learnt. I explain it in the second page of the ws. The pictures are from Phillp Martin. Happy 2011

Matching
First of all I have to thank charmed one for the nice template that I can use with her permission. This type of exercise goes after all the work with the various pictionaries. I check if the children have memorized the words with a "matching" exercise: the words are not just below the pictures and they have to choose the correct match. Enjoy

Living or non-living mini book
By now, I hope, my second graders have learnt the difference between living and non living thing, but Ill give them this mini book just for fun! I have to thank Alenka for her tutorial and www.mycutegraphics. com for the pictures.

Do you want to play with me?
This is the last pictionary I upload of this series, I promise! When presenting this lesson, I do not miss the opportunity to talk with my young students on this topic. I say that they can have fun with simpler games than video games and the like.

Footguard cover
At the beginning of a new school year I give my young children a cover for their exercise books. I usually prepare one cover for each grade I teach, this time theres only one so my young students have to read, understand and complete the sentences without my help. Lets cross our fingers!
