Amish people - poetry - alternative lifestyle
This can be used in a lesson about Amish people. There is a fill-in exercise (students have to guess the words that rhyme), there are questions which can be used as a trigger for a discussion and finally there is a writing task.

I used this on an OHP transparancy. First I gave a description of a pirate and my students guessed which pirate I was talking about. Then my students wrote their own descriptions. Next some of them read out their descriptions in class and the other students guessed.
