Sample Paragraph writing - Instructions
Im teaching my students how to write an instructional paragraph. This is an ironic paragraph teaching students how to fail memorably, which they would find very humorous. Students fill in the blanks and then answer the questions at the end. The answers to the fill in the blanks are on the second page. Enjoy!

Fragments, run-on sentences and comma splices test
I use this to test my students after teaching them about sentence fragments, run-on sentences, and comma splices. Its a great test or can be modified as a worksheet to review the information. Many students keep on making these errors!

Problems with subject-verb agreement (notes)
These notes about subject-verb agreement problems are very useful as a starter activity or as review. After going through each rule, do the examples together. The answer key is included. I made these notes for my older ESL students.

Controversial Topics activity
This is a good introductory activity to get students talking about controversial topics. From there, students can have a debate or do oral presentations, and then they can write a persuasive paragraph or composition.
