TV Advert - Persuasion 3
Part 2 of the lesson on persuasive writing/performing a TV Advert skit in groups (see my other worksheets). Here is one group worksheet. The idea is that students change the plain sentences given here as ideas into more persuasive sentences, using the guidelines given on the previous worksheet.
Once the script is ready and has been checked by t...

Snow White Script - Scene 2
I wrote this fairly simple script for a school production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. It is designed to be around 5 minutes long, and the number of characters is easily adaptable (i.e. take out one of the narrators to make only 1 narrator, or add more dwarves!).
This is scene 2!

Emphasis and Expression
I find that my students like to speak in a monotone, so I designed a lesson that would get them to speak with a bit more emphasis and expression in their voices.
I explained that emphasis on certain words can change the meaning of a sentence:
use example of "I am going to the shop",
students listen and underline the emphasised word,
then...

Suggestions and Advice
Students give advice by filling in the blank spaces with words from the box on the second page (note: some of the phrases in the box are red herrings).
Of course, the task could be made more difficult or allow for more creativity if you removed this box. With it, the worksheet is suitable for lower level classes.
Students can practice readi...

Getting to know you - Introductions
I used this as my first lesson with new classes of the school year. It was a successful activity which got students speaking to their classmates.
Students form questions by writing a word from the choice at the bottom of the sheet into the table. Then, they ask their partner each question and write their partners response.
I played a game a...
