Here is an illustrated list of expressions to use when making telephone calls or receiving telephone calls. Both British and American expressions are listed. This was inspired by an old list from the CRAPEL at the University of Nancy II in Nancy, France, but was extensively revised and reformatted.

There are several types of exercises here, a vocabulary matching exercise, listening comprehension, discussion, etc.
I used the Mistral font for the title, but this can be changed so that everything fits onto 2 pages.

Presentation Feedback Cards

Derek the Human iPod
"60 Minutes" has a fabulous story on Derek Paravicini, the human iPod (so called because once he hears a song, he can play it perfectly), who is a musical genius, but at the same time blind and severely retarded. (He cannot count to three or button his shirt.)

The English Patient - Discussion
"The English Patient" is a beautiful film that won 9 Academy Awards. Here is a worksheet with 2 exercises to follow watching the film. In the first one, they match different flaws with the principal characters, and in the second they choose 8-12 questions about the film to discuss. (Not recommended for students under 17.)
