 This is the first part of a group activity I designed for the topic Route 66. It includes four different parts: 1) a speaking activity including role cards for six students 2) a reading comprehension 3) a writing task 4) and a poster activity. There are four groups in total! The first one is concerned with Chicago - the beginning of Route 66.

 		 Pocket Money - Speaking Activity
 This is a speaking activity for elementary learners. When you deal with pocket money, you can ask them to interview their classmates. It motivates them to fill in the grid and you can also add a competitive element to the activity if you reward something to the person who finishes the grid first.

 		 Mascots - A wordsearch
 This is a small exercise to practice new vocabulary - very good as a lesson starter. The students have to search the new words in the wordfield. To make it a bit easier you can write the words on the board - so that they know what they are looking for. To make it competitive, ask them to do it as fast as they can and award something to the fastest....
