Why cant the English teach their children how to speak?
This is a song from "My Fair Lady" (which you can find on YouTube) which Ive redone with some different words. The point is to listen and first underline the different words, then the second time round write the correct word on the side. The "different words" are all logically possible in the song, so its an interesting exercise on comprehension ...

Rosa sat song for Obama
This worksheet accompanies the song "Rosa sat" written for Obamas election, and you can find the song and video on youtube. I usually just put the names on the board first (Rosa - Martin -Obama) and see what the students can imagine, then help them create the chorus of the song, then watch the video, then give them the worksheet.
Hope you enjoy ...

Mad Men 1.1 Oral comprehension
A short during-and-after comprehension worksheet to go with the first episode of the fabulous "Mad Men" TV series. The idea is to help students with general comprehension and pick up on a few key ideas and expressions. I put the subtitles on, and if the class gets really interested, we watch again later without the subtitles. Enjoy!

Neverland
A comprehension page for working with one of the early scenes in "Finding Neverland", where JM Barrie meets Mrs Davies and her sons for the first time. Its a key scene to the creation of "Peter Pan". My kids really enjoyed it, and wanted to watch the rest of the film! Hope youll enjoy it, too!
