How do you say "Cobra" in English?
First of all I have to thank Jecika for sharing the template Ive used for this worksheet.Shes been very generous. Ive prepared this ws because, whenever I teach vocabulary, my students always need "something different". I dont know if it happens to you, too, but if I teach the word bird, they want to learn another one: bald eagle and so on. The...

Matching
First of all I have to thank charmed one for the nice template that I can use with her permission. This type of exercise goes after all the work with the various pictionaries. I check if the children have memorized the words with a "matching" exercise: the words are not just below the pictures and they have to choose the correct match. Enjoy

007 Secret Message
I use this sort of exercise to have children practise spelling and revise numbers and colours. They play in small groups of 3 and "decode" the message. After that they read the message and do the spelling of each word. They may also write their own message in numbers and tell it to other groups reading the numbers.

Thats what I need for school
Ill have classes with 5-6 year old children during the next school year. I generally teach English using a lot of images, posters, toys, etc. and for this reason Im preparing pictionaries to scatter all around the classroom. This ws is the first in a series. The pictures are all public domain.

Past and present jobs
My intention is to help children understand that many jobs started in the past because the man has always tried to satisfy his need for survival and adaptation to the environment. This ws may be used for a CLIL lesson as well. The pictures are from www.timtim.com except for the slave, the gladiator, the sand clock, the clock and the frame. They a...

Its Winter
A cross curricular lesson? Maybe, but very simple! After a science lesson, the teacher of Italian and myself invented a story the children had to repeat. I made the pictionary and we had the children "read" the pictures and tell what they had learnt. I explain it in the second page of the ws. The pictures are from Phillp Martin. Happy 2011

Leprechaun Time
This is a "listen and do" activity meant for very young children. First the teacher tells them how to colour the picture and then he/she asks questions about the Leprechaun. This is an opportunity to talk about Irish legends
