A trip around Ireland: Group work
Great practice for the present perfect. Put pupils into groups and let them speak freely. They decide what she has and has done. There are two sheets to creat more variety when listening. It worked well in class.You could plot the routes and use it as a test.

Australian open 2010
I started the lesson with an enlarged copy of the official advert using the over-head projector and then handed out these biographies. Each group chose one but no group was allowed to describe a player that another group had already described which led to a certain amont of improvisation which was the aim of the exercise.
