Inventor/Invention Search
This worksheet is part of a unit I developed on "Inventions", but can also be used on its own. Students match a list of inventors with their inventions, using "Google" when necessary. This activity usually lends itself well to discussion or new information.

Students have to circle which one of a pair of homonyms fits the context of each sentence. This activity has a few challenging items, eg, ascent/assent, idol/idle, so it may be suitable for more proficient students unless the homonyms are pre-taught.
