Hi...Chinese New Year means we need to make fortune cookies. Here is a recipe, with key vocabulary for students to translate in to their language. Extend the lesson by making your own sayings or verb tests etc to go inside the cookies

School equipment maze
The teacher reads out a list of school objects, pre determined by the teacher, which leads a path through the maze. The pupils listen and follow the path. At the end the pupils have to say whether they arrived at A, B or C. Have fun! My kids love stuff like this and it reinforces the lesson whilst having fun.

colour and write
I use this either to help learn the colours and the writen word or as a small test of homework. The idea is that the children colour the clouds in with the colours that they have learnt and then follow the line to write the correct name of the colour with the correct spelling.

TIME DOMINOES
The student each has a sheet. Each cuts out the dominoes and then arranges/sticks them in their work book so that the text matches the image. It will form a continuous chain. Good for practicing comprehansion of time and a change from writing!

Mothers day vouchers
Mothers day vouchers. to be made up in to a booklet and given to mother on mothers day. Each voucher can then be exchanged for a job/service that the mother requires the child to do. A great gift. Use as a model for children to copy.

Can you?
Short lesson on the use of "Can you...?" and responses and then the children use the grid to write other students name in the top and then go around the class asking these students "can you swim?" and the second student to respond either"yes, I can swim" or ""no, I can�t swim", the first student to mark a cross or a tick.
