             Fashion Show Workshop

In this fun group activity the children first read, then write and then practice speaking. They also have a great time!

Cut along the green lines and as you sing the children fold over the bottles and watch them disappear! To help with counting - before saying any of the numbers in the song (Page 2) count the bottles.

            ANIMAL CHALLENGE

How many hearts does an octopus have? This really gets kids guessing - full of interesting animal facts.
Works with "How fast..." "How long..." "How much..." etc. Hope you enjoy it! 2 pages here.

            Brain Game

What do we spend most of the time thinking about? I used this little game as a warm-up with an adults conversation class. It is not suitable for children - though if the examples were changed it could be.

            Colours Chant

The children in my school love this colours chant. First you say the first 2 lines (with actions), then repeat but just the colour. "Blue! Red!" Introduce the next new colour then go back to the beginning. When you have reached the final line you then repeat all the colours in the chant - fast!

Create a fairy story sequencing cards

Unfortunately all the text boxes have been mixed up on the preview but when downloaded its fine and looks much better. Cut out the story cards and character cards and students have to put them in order to make a story. Its a simple story for beginners and my young students really enjoyed this activity. We used it when we were studying certain a...

            Describing Sounds

When working on the five senses I made this little matching exercise to go with what I can hear. Students then listened to recorded sounds and tried to describe them. Makes a fun lesson. Key included.

            Easter Egg Game (matching opposites)

This is a more difficult version of the scrambled eggs activity I posted a few days ago. Cut the eggs in half, give each student 2 mismatched halves as they enter the classroom. They must find the other half of their egg. More instructions included. Great warm up ativity for kids and adults. 6 pages.

            Easter Quiz

Here is a simple quiz I use with the children at Easter. The class is divided into 3 or 4 teams. I usually turn it into a "Who wants to be a millionaire?" game - they can "phone a friend" (in this case phone anyone in the room), "50/50" (I eliminate 2 answers) or "ask the audience" (in this case the rest of the class). Lots of fun!
