I created this worksheet for an adult group, but it can be used with high school students and in Life Skills classes. The students read the text with the teacher, fill in the missing words in the text using the color coordinated pictures that illustrate the words, and answer the questions. I lead it as a guided activity, but it can also be used for...

Newcomers Vocabulary Test
This test is for assessing speaking skills - point to the word, and if the kid say it, put a check on the line next to it. I use it with newcomers, when they first come to school. Usually I repeat the test after they had been in school for 2-3 months, to check their progress with survival English vocabulary.

Animal Alphabet Book A-G
I used this book in a newcomer level K group. We read the book chorally, discussed the animals, worked on the initial letter sound, and copied the sentence on the line next to it. I made similar books for the rest of the letters of the alphabet. Note - If you print it doublesided, print the title page separately, because otherwise it disturbs the...

Animal Alphabet Book F-O
Print the pages two-sided, cut in the middle, arrange in alphabet order, staple on one side. I had originally designed the book A-Z, but this way is more than 1 MB, but for the needs of this site I had to cut it in portions. Note - If you print it twosided, print the title page separately, because otherwise it disturbs the order of the letters an...

Animal Alphabet X-Z
This is the last part of the Animal Alphabet Book. Copy two sided, cut in the middle, staple on the side. If you make a BW copy, the kids can also color the pictures of the animals, thus extending the topic of the lesson to names of colors, or descriptions of animals. Note - If you print it two-sided, print the title page separately, because other...
