Finish the rhyme
A useful gap-fill exercise to get children thinking about rhyming words. It is great for helping children to hear the end sound in words, and notice the spelling of the sounds. Can children think of their own rhyming sentences?

This is easy to edit and use for whatever numbers or mathematical language you want, such as 10 more/less, add 12 is, take away 7 is, ect. You could laminate it, and use it as a speaking and listening exercise, with the children filling in the clues you read out, such as �write the number 8 in the correct box� etc. Hope it is useful!

A great game to play with the class! There are two cards on the sheet. Photocopy the sheet so you have the number of cards you need. Call out the words in the right order, and let children colour them in. Best in partners as children will talk about the words.
