Crazy English Test (Fun Time Killer)
This is a silly test that students from elementary level and up will enjoy. It involves some funny questions and tasks they have to complete like, "Go to the board and draw a star" or "What color are your teachers socks today?" My kids loved this and it gave me time to check homework and do other things while they were working.

Scattegories (One)
A vocabluary game that my kids LOVE!! Its great for new classes if you want to get an idea of their lexicon, or it works well as a long filler! Make 3-5 teams of at least 2 Ss each. Pass out the worksheets and tell them to write their team name ONLY at the top, this will give you time to make the game grid on the board. Write the categorie...

Teams start with $2,000 and they HAVE to spend it all....allocating some money to each question. I write the answers slowly and dramatically on the board, they love it. If theyre correct they win the money they bet, if they were wrong, the...

Make your own Word Search!
This works well for any age/level. Put Ss into pairs and give one worksheet for each pair. You should make a grid on the board to model making a word search in order to explain the process. I stress that the Ss students should use all capital letters, write CLEARLY, etc. Monitor that theyre doing this....if not make them start over. When tw...
