Hi everyone! a silly question...
What�s the difference between an ice cream shop and an ice cream parlor????

They are the same thing as far as descriptive English goes. However, if you wanted to get very technical, an ice cream shop might sell actual boxes of ice cream, while an ice cream parlor might be an old-fashioned type of cafe (which only sells ice cream on a cone, etc.). Most people in America would use the two terms interchangeably without any difference.

There really are not any more ice cream parlors anymore- they were very popular in the 1940 �s and 50 �s. Now we have Baskin and Robbins, Culvers, Tasty Freeze.

Arlissa explains it pretty well.
To me: When you say "Ice Cream Parlor" it tends to instill a vision of something like an ice cream "restaurant"--something a little fancier than a shop. |
