Looking for teaching aids

Hi all!

I don t know if anyone can help me with this but I thought I d ask anyway. When I was at school in England (many, many, many, years ago!) I remember learning how to make sentences. I was very young at the time so they would have been basic sentences. There was a stand (like a large card) with plastic strips in which I could insert small cards. On these cards were words, one word on one card. The cards would be put together to form a sentence. There were lots of cards organised nicely in a box. As far as I remember, there were cards with pictures too. I would so love to have such a thing for my lessons but, as I don t know what it was called, I don t really know where to begin looking for one. I suppose I could make one myself, and I am willing to do that, but I would like to try and buy a readymade one if possible. Does anyone know what such a thing is called or/and where I can buy one?

Thanking you all in advance!! I am sorry if my description doesn t make sense!

Sarah
