Reading Help

Hello friends,

How do you help a child to read sentences with flow?  I have a student that reads his sentences kind of like a robot.  How do I get him to pause or stop everytime he sees a period.  Any tips?

He used to read quietly.  He is much louder now but he still reads in a fairly monotone voice when reading aloud.

Hello PM,

Well, sometimes I give my students adjectives cards (happy, sad, excited, angry, etc) and they have to read or do an activity with the corresponding emotion.

But first you have to demonstrate and try to do it in a silly way so they wont feel embarrassed trying this technique.

I hope you find it useful,

Juliana

Thanks Juliana!

I should try that.
