How much do you earn?

Hello everybody!

I am a member in a union of teachers in Turkey. We teachers usually discuss our

economical situation. When we complain, we are told teachers get enough or more money if you regard country �s per capita and we are usually compared with teachers abroad. To make a good comparision I need your answers. My answers are in brackets.

Will you please answer shortly? I hope it won �t be tiring.

1.How much do you earn? (900 dollars)

2.How much is the rent for an average house? (350 )

3.How much do a family spend on food?(250)

4.How many days are public holidays for teachers? (60 days)

we �ve had similar questions before - and realized that the cost of living and the average salaries are so extremely different in different countries that salaries simply cannot be compared, it doesn �t make sense to say how much we earn. I remember a colleague in some Eastern country who earned hardly enough to feed one person in my country, leave alone house and dress and feed a family...
