Just a true story:
One of the students - a teenage girl said that her friend is a Duchess.
Well, many fellow students were amazed...
Until she found out the correct word was a Dutch :-DD

PS: Well, I have to admit something... Once I said my family usually ate RAW potatoes and we preferred raw vegetables to boiled...
Yes, I wanted to say...
tomatoes :-DDD

Hey, Moravc, it s an interesting topic!

Why don t start a thread with such kind of funny things?

A student of mine, when I asked about his favorite sport, answered aloud: "sucker". Everyone understood that he wanted to say "soccer" but the outburst o
of laughing disturbed the class for some minutes before he had the chance to correct it.

Doing a round of animal names, one of my students said " a Why" I didn t understand which animal he meant untill I figured out he meant a Lama. (In Hebrew lama means Why? )
I also love it when students say "I m boring" and I usually immediatly agree with them! (they mean of course to say that they are bored -- boring!)

By the way I m Dutch!

Every year at least one of my students pronounces "sexe" instead of "six" when telling numbers aloud and realizes what he has said just after saying it. What do we have after number 5, we have .... LOL
