Teachers, I īm writing an essay as a requirement for my M.A. application.
The topic is current issues in teaching/(learning) English to speakers of other languages.

Any ideas?

What do you mean by issues? Like problems? Or topics? It īs not clear to me either. Could you be more specific - how can we help you?

Thanks everybody; I think I can use a dictionary to answer your questions.
issuesome situation or event that is thought about; "he kept drifting off the topic"; "he had been thinking about the subject for several years"; "it is a matter for the police"

I don īt remember the official name of it, but there is currently a movement that is working with the concept of "mixed-level" classes.  These are mixed classes that consist of beginner, intermediate, and advanced speakers.  The concept is that beginners wil learn from the better speakers and the better speakers gain confidence and a better understanding by explaining to the beginners (something like that).

I would also add two more issues to the list:
differentiation and inclusion
