Help on my Assignments

Hi All,

I am currently undertaking a CELTA course and I have 3 assignments to complete. I was was wondering if anybody could give me some adive or pointers for my 3 topics.
How to teach quiet (one syllable) E1 beginner
How to teach Pavement E2
How to teach Put up with e.g. I can t put up with this job. E3

I have to do lesson plans for each.  I need a context for each, concept questions etc.

Any help would be great!
Thanks
Smile

Just wanted to let you know that Ive posted some of my CELTA course materials on the sites, which you may find useful. They re probably not the best in the world, but all the material that Ive posted was graded to standard or above. I ve uploaded some more stuff today, but it won t appear until tomorrow.

Some suggestions for concept questions:

Can you drive a car on a pavement? Can you walk on a pavement?

For contetxt, you could download a picture of people walking on a pavement, and use it to elicit the word. You could simply point to the pavement and ask the students whats this? . Use google images to find a suitable picture.

You could use a picture of the interior of a library to show the context of a library, or someone raising a finger to their mouth to make the usual gesture for quiet. You could ask concept questions such as is a mouse quiet? , or is an airport quiet? .

An example of a context for can t put up with is someone living next door to a noisy neighbour, maybe someone playing loud music all the time or playing drums late at night. You could also spin a story about a very patient person, someone who puts up with a lot of things.  There are synonyms for cant put up with, such as cant tolerate or cant stand .

Hope this helps.
