"Down 2 date"

Some of my students are going to a Senior party at the American School. It is called "Down 2 date" and they want to know what it means.  I have no idea!  Can you help me?
Thanks

Hi, Anna!  From what I can remember, to be "down for something" means to be interested in doing it.  We used to say "up for it" but now words have changed meanings so the common phrase is "down for something."  It sounds like it is saying the kids are interested in dating.  I ve been gone from the States for almost ten years so I may be wrong.

"Down to date" is a party where you go looking for a girlfriend or boyfriend. It also can be to bring old things to the present, like a party where everybody dresses like people did in the 70s.

I hope it helps.
