WHAT WOULD YOU SAY??

Hi everybody...

I m currently preparing flash-cards based on phonetics and I am wondering about the title.

So far, the title is : "The sound [i:]" (for exemple) and I hesitate with "The [i:] sound".

Are both titles possible? Am I wrong with the one I m currently using?? It s just so simple that I feel a bit ashamed of asking!!! (English teacher, me??? ^^)

Thanks for your replies...
