food vocabulary (Brazilian teachers)

Hello, teachers. How are you doing?

I need a little help from Brazilian teachers about food vocabulary.

My students have to make an ad or menu for a burger or pizza place as a unit project.

They made it. But there some of the vocabulary really got me confused. Please, can you have a look and tell if they are right or wrong. And tell me ones I couldn t  figure out.

Refrigerante de 2 litros = 2 liters soda?

Promoo= special offer?

Por tempo limitado = for a limited time?

Torta mousse de chocolate= chocolate mousse pie

Pastelaria= ?

Rodzio=?

Pastel = pastry (its seems a little weird to me, google for it and youll understand)

Recheio de pastel= pastry filling?

Pizzaria = pizzaria ou pizzeria?

Raspadinha=?

               cachorro quente prensado = ?

I know it may sound stupid. But its the first time I teach about food, ad and menus.

Please, help me.

Thanks.

Hello, Zora.

Thank you very much, my dear.

Im not as stupid as I thought.

But, pie as pastel doesnt seem the right word. And iced drink really seems a little general. I usually use Google images to know if my guesses are right, I think Pastry doesnt fit as pastelaria. If you type this, nothing like pastelaria appears.

You are from Canada, isnt it?

How do you understand the Portuguese words?

But, I really grateful.

Thanks.

I live in Spain now. In the Galician region and the dialect is very similar to Portuguese.

Just so you know... "pie" in English is used for anything that has a filling, whether it be meat, fish, chocolate, cream, or fruit. Empanada would be for example: meat or fish pie...

And if you are referring to a menu then it is "pastry" in the dessert part... Bakery (which is also pasteleria) would be the place it comes from... A bakery makes pastry... but on a menu it s "pastry"...  I understood you were looking for the menu term.

Hi

Translating food is not that easy; we cook here what you don t cook somewhere else , miles away. One thing is for sure, for me: RODZIO is BRAZILIAN . You can explain what it is, but , my opinion, should never translate it.

You don t translate CAMPANHE, VERMOUTH, PIZZA, etc, etc, etc.
RODZIO is Brazilian and I am a lover.
Hugs
