In South Africa, teachers have to be at school for 7 hours per day, eg. 7.30 - 14.30 .  In the Foundation Phase (Grade 1-3, elementary) we teach for 5-6 hours per day (25-30 hours per week), the rest of the time is used for admin work or extra-murals.
