site for expressions

Dear teachers...

do you know any site where i can find  meanings of expressions?

I intend to show to my students the movie "how the grinch stole xmas" and I am writing down the new words so that they will enrich their vocabulary.

However, there are some expressions that i am not familiar with their meaning like: heck of a rush & top of the day...

thank you in advance for your help...

I think that in "the Grinch" you will find tons of expressions that are not commonly used, because it s a film from a Dr Seuss book, so the dialogues are rather poetic and fantasy - like. I think most expression webpages will only list common expressions such as "it s raining cats and dogs..."
Your best chance might be to create a list and post it on the website?

but I usually just use the specific phrase in a search engine (e.g. Google) with an additional term like meaning or definition & you will probably get a few hits too.
