It depends very much on the contexts:
condition - may refer to a state if the point of reference is an object e.g. old/new/worn/scratched
condition - may also refer to the state of health of a patient e.g. �What �s his condition at the moment?
condition - may refer to certain terms/stipulations e.g. �I �ll buy you a new car on condition that you don �t drive above 60mph. �
position - may refer to circumstances (possibly financial) e.g. �What position is he in at the moment? � or circumstances in general
position - may refer to a location (compass, for example)
position - may refer to a preferential sleeping posture e.g. on one �s back
position - may refer to a job e.g. �What position does she hold in the factory? �
situation - may refer to the location of a place
situation - may refer to general circumstances (as in position definition no, 1)
situation - may refer to a job e.g. Situations vacant column in a newspaper
