what is the difference?

Hi collegues from all over the world:
Please what is the difference between the containers CAN and TIN I used to think that can  was for the  one you could open without a tin opener, but I am not sure anymore maybe the first one is American E? and the other one is  British E ?
wHAT DO YOU SAY?

hi Claudini ..

I think the full name is tin can .. tin is the original material and can is the object ..

also that there is no difference in either American E or British E ... both tin of peas and can of peas can be used interchangeably

Hello Claudini,

I guess you are right when you say the difference is the kind of English. (American English and British English)

I check the cambridge dictionary about that.

Hope this help.

Best Wishes
