Which of these sentences is right? "I heard him weeping a lot." "I heard him weep a lot." Thanks in advance.

Out of context both are right.

"I heard him weeping a lot" could mean you heard him at one time,  making lots of noise. It could also mean the same as "I heard him weeping often."
As in past continuous for an action that happened over a period of time in the past.
OR past continuous for an every day/regular/ repeated action in the past.

"I heard him weep a lot" could only mean "I heard him weep often."
As in past simple for every day/regular/repeated action in the past.

Take a look at these:

Both of them are correct, but...

The first sentence carries the idea of just hearing part of the weeping (at some point of the action).
The second one carries the idea of hearing the whole action (you were present from beginning to end).

I hope this helps.
